IN THE CIRCUIT COURT OF FLORIDA, SEVENTH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT IN AND FOR VOLUSIA COUNTY

Re: Parking Citations

Ref: T-2022-002-V

WHEREAS,  the prompt and expeditious handling of cases related to parking infractions necessitates the establishment of certain guidelines;

NOW THEREFORE,  I,  JAMES R. CLAYTON, Chief Judge of the Seventh Judicial Circuit of Florida, hereby order as follows:

  1. The Volusia County Clerk of Court’s office shall schedule traffic arraignments on parking citations where the recipients of said citations have not paid the stated fines within 30 days.
  1. Failure to appear at arraignment or failure to pay the fine may result in the issuance of an order to show cause.
  1. The Clerk of Court is ordered to dismiss all pending, unpaid parking citations issued on or before December 31, 2021.

The Clerk of Court is further authorized to dismiss any parking citations that remain pending and unpaid after two (2) years from the date the citation was issued.
