All Flagler, Putnam, St. Johns, and Volusia County courts will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 25, and Wednesday, Jan. 1, for Christmas and New Year’s.
WHEREAS, a Drug Court Task Force previously recommended that an adult drug court program be established in Flagler County, and
WHEREAS, the Task Force’s recommendation led to the establishment of an Adult Drug Court in Flagler County in 2006;
NOW THEREFORE, I, TERENCE R. PERKINS, Chief Judge of the Seventh Judicial Circuit of Florida, hereby reaffirm the establishment of the Flagler County Adult Drug Court division and program, to which certain drug-related criminal cases in Circuit Court may be referred/assigned.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that a circuit judge will be assigned to the Flagler County Adult Drug Court division and that it will be designated as Division 24 for assignment purposes. Upon receipt of appropriate orders of the Court, the Flagler County Clerk of Court shall assign/transfer designated cases to Division 24 (Adult Drug Court).
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that defendants participating in the Flagler County Adult Drug Court program will be supervised mutually by Drug Court staff and Florida Department of Corrections staff.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the Drug Court judge shall convene a Drug Court Advisory Committee, comprised of relevant stakeholders and other interested parties, to advise and assist the Drug Court judge and Chief Judge in the operation of the Flagler County Adult Drug Court program. The Drug Court judge shall serve as chair of the advisory committee.
