Flagler, Putnam, St. Johns, and Volusia County courts will be closed Friday, April 3, in observance of Good Friday. Courts (courthouses) throughout the Seventh Circuit will resume normal operations on Monday, April 6.
WHEREAS, § 939.17, Florida Statutes, directs the Clerk of Court, under the direction of the Court, to apply money deposited by or on behalf of a defendant upon a judgment for the payment of a fine and costs, toward the satisfaction of such fine and costs and return the remainder to the depositor, and
WHEREAS, the Florida Attorney General’s Office has issued Advisory Legal Opinion #97-24 regarding this subject;
NOW THEREFORE, I, TERENCE R. PERKINS, Chief Judge of the Seventh Judicial Circuit of Florida, hereby order the Clerks of Court in Flagler, Putnam, St. Johns and Volusia counties to apply money deposited by or on behalf of a defendant upon a judgment for the payment of fines and costs, toward the satisfaction of such fines and costs, and to return the remainder to the depositor.
