Seventh Judicial Circuit Judge Matthew M. Foxman will be resigning/retiring effective Nov. 29, 2024, to focus on his health.
Judge Foxman received his undergraduate degree from Florida State University and law degree from Stetson University College of Law. He was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1999 and was elected to a circuit judgeship in 2010. He was subsequently reelected in 2016 and 2022 without opposition. As a Circuit Judge, Foxman served in the Family Law and Felony divisions in Volusia and Flagler Counties. Before joining the Court, Judge Foxman worked as an Assistant State Attorney.
Chief Judge Leah Case remarked: “Judge Foxman has been a great friend to me personally and to many of my colleagues on the bench. His quick wit, good humor, and mentorship will be sorely missed, but we’re all wishing him the very best with this next chapter of his life and career. The citizens of the Seventh Judicial Circuit are losing a dedicated jurist who genuinely cared about the lawyers and litigants who appeared before him.”
Judge Foxman’s position will be filled by gubernatorial appointment.
