Flagler, Putnam, St. Johns, and Volusia County Courts will be closed on Thursday and Friday, July 4 and 5, in observance of Independence Day.
Circuit Judge Linda L. Gaustad was elected to the bench in 2018. She was previously an assistant public defender in the appellate division and had been in private practice since 2002. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida and her law degree from the University of Florida. Judge Gaustad currently hears juvenile delinquency, dependency and unified family court cases at the Volusia County Courthouse in DeLand.

The Code of Judicial Conduct governing behavior by judges forbids Judges from discussing pending cases with the public. Please do not call the Court expecting to speak with a Judge about any case. The Court is only allowed to consider arguments made in the courtroom and in documents properly filed by parties in the case as authorized by law and the Rules of Court. Communications that do not meet these legal requirements cannot be forwarded to the Judge.
Under Florida law, e-mail addresses are public records. If you do not want your e-mail address released in response to a public records request, do not send electronic mail to this entity. Instead, contact the Court by phone or in writing.
