Circuit Judge Elizabeth A. Blackburn was appointed to the bench in 2015. She earned her undergraduate degree and a master’s degree from the University of Kansas and her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law. She was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1988 and worked as a prosecutor and homicide division chief in the State Attorney’s Office before spending more than 20 years in private practice. She is board-certified in Marital and Family Law and has served as chair of the Family Law Rules Committee of The Florida Bar. She currently hears criminal and drug court cases at the S. James Foxman Justice Center in Daytona Beach.
