Putnam County Court Judge George A. Young was appointed to the bench in 2026. He earned his undergraduate degree from Florida State University and his Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law. He was admitted to The Florida Bar in 2008. Before his appointment, he served as an attorney with Holmes & Young, P.A. since 2013 and became a managing partner in 2020. Earlier in his career, he served as an assistant state attorney in the Seventh Judicial Circuit. He also served in the United States Army from 1994 to 2004. He currently hears criminal cases at the Putnam County Courthouse in Palatka.
