All Flagler, Putnam, St. Johns, and Volusia County courts will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 25, and Wednesday, Jan. 1, for Christmas and New Year’s.
Circuit Judge A. Kathleen McNeilly was elected to the bench in 2016. She worked in private practice for 29 years before becoming a judge, with experience in civil insurance defense litigation, criminal law, juvenile dependency and delinquency. She also served as a law clerk for the federal judiciary upon graduation from law school. She received her bachelor’s degree from Stetson University in DeLand, and her juris doctor from Stetson University College of Law. She was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1988. Judge McNeilly served in the Unified Family Court Division (primarily child welfare) for 7 1/2 years and currently hears criminal felony cases at the Volusia County Courthouse in Deland.
