Flagler County Court Judge D. Melissa Distler was elected President-Elect of the Florida Conference of County Court Judges last week at the judges’ summer education conference in Bonita Springs. The Conference consists of all 335 County Court Judges throughout the 67 counties of Florida. Judge Distler will serve as President-Elect for two years and be sworn in as President in July 2024.
Judge Distler was first elected to the bench in 2012 and was re-elected without opposition in 2018. Judge Distler currently presides over misdemeanor and delinquency dockets in Bunnell. She serves as Associate Dean of the College of Advanced Judicial Studies and instructs at other judicial education conferences. Judge Distler is Board Certified in Criminal Trial Law.
