IN THE CIRCUIT COURT OF FLORIDA, SEVENTH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT IN AND FOR FLAGLER, PUTNAM, ST. JOHNS AND VOLUSIA COUNTIES

Re: Appointment of Perry M. Nardi as Civil Traffic Infraction Hearing Officer

Ref: T-2024-012-SC

          WHEREAS, pursuant to § 318.31, Florida Statutes, and Rule 6.630, Florida Rules of Traffic Court, a Civil Traffic Infraction Hearing Officer program has been established in Flagler, Putnam, St. Johns, and Volusia counties, and

          WHEREAS, the Chief Justice of the Florida Supreme Court has authorized the use of Civil Traffic Infraction Hearing Officers in the Seventh Judicial Circuit;

          NOW THEREFORE, I, LEAH R. CASE, Chief Judge of the Seventh Judicial Circuit of Florida, hereby order as follows:

  1. Perry M. Nardi, Esq. is appointed to serve as a Civil Traffic Infraction Hearing Officer in the Seventh Judicial Circuit Court in and for Flagler, Putnam, St. Johns, and Volusia counties, effective June 1, 2024.
  1. Mr. Nardi’s jurisdiction and limitations thereon are as delineated in §§ 318.32(1) & 318.325, Florida Statutes, and Rule 6.630 (c), Florida Rules of Traffic Court.
  1. Mr. Nardi must remain a member in good standing of The Florida Bar and comply with all training requirements set forth in § 318.34, Florida Statutes, Rules 6.630(f) & (g), Florida Rules of Traffic Court, and any other requirements as may be established by the Seventh Judicial Circuit Court.
  1. Mr. Nardi is an independent contractor, serves part-time, has no definite term of office, and serves at the pleasure of the Chief Judge of the Seventh Judicial Circuit.
  1. Mr. Nardi must comply with applicable provisions of the Code of Judicial Conduct and The Florida Bar Code of Professional Responsibility. Further, Mr. Nardi is prohibited from representing clients in any traffic matters (both civil and criminal).
  1. Mr. Nardi will be compensated for his services in accordance with the terms of his Professional Services Agreement with the Seventh Judicial Circuit Court.
