WHEREAS, numerous cases designated as “re-opened” by the Clerks of Court in Flagler, Putnam, St. Johns and Volusia counties currently populate the dockets of all judges of the Seventh Judicial Circuit, and
WHEREAS, it has been suggested to the undersigned that uniformity in regards to the Clerks’ processing and closure (or re-closure) of “re-opened” cases is in the best interest of the circuit;
NOW THEREFORE, I, JAMES R. CLAYTON, Chief Judge of the Seventh Judicial Circuit of Florida, hereby order that any case designated as “re-opened” by a Clerk’s office in the Seventh Judicial Circuit shall be administratively closed (or re-closed) by the Clerk’s office if no activity has occurred in said case for six (6) months or more. Administrative closures (or re-closures) by the Clerks’ offices in cases affected by this Order do not require further intervention or order of the court.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that any previous administrative orders on this subject are hereby rescinded.
