Circuit Judge Dawn D. Nichols was appointed to the bench in 2014. Prior to becoming a judge, she worked as an assistant public defender in the Seventh Judicial Circuit and worked in private practice in Daytona Beach. Judge Nichols has an undergraduate degree and a juris doctor from the University of Florida and is board certified in marital and family law. She previously presided in a family law division and currently hears criminal and Drug Court cases at the Volusia County Courthouse in DeLand.
