Circuit Judge Dawn D. Nichols was appointed to the bench in 2014. Prior to becoming a judge, she worked as an assistant public defender in the Seventh Judicial Circuit and worked in private practice in Daytona Beach. Judge Nichols has an undergraduate degree and a juris doctor from the University of Florida and is board certified in marital and family law. Judge Nichols currently presides over the criminal division, Drug Court and also civil cases at the Kim C. Hammond Justice Center in Bunnell.
