IN THE CIRCUIT COURT OF FLORIDA, SEVENTH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT IN AND FOR FLAGLER, PUTNAM, ST. JOHNS AND VOLUSIA COUNTIES

Re: GUARDIANSHIP BLANKET BONDS

Ref: PB-2016-008-SC (Rescinds PB-2000-08-SC)

WHEREAS, it has been made known to the undersigned that pursuant to § 744.2003(2), Florida Statutes, blanket fiduciary bonds must be filed by professional guardians with the Clerks of the Circuit Court, in the respective counties of the Seventh Judicial Circuit, and

WHEREAS, the court has been advised that the Clerks of Court in the Seventh Judicial Circuit have means to file, document and inform the Court of guardians who have met legal requirements and filed said blanket fiduciary bonds;

NOW THEREFORE, I, TERENCE R. PERKINS, Chief Judge of the Seventh Judicial Circuit of Florida, hereby order as follows:

  1. All professional guardians in the Seventh Judicial Circuit shall file an original blanket fiduciary bond with the Clerk of Court in the county in which the guardian’s primary place of business is held.
  2. A certified copy of said bond, signed by the Clerk of Court of the county in which the guardian’s primary place of business is located, shall be filed by professional guardians with all other Clerk’s offices in counties wherein the guardian conducts business.
  3. Annually, each professional guardian shall provide evidence that said bond remains in full force and effect.
  4. The Clerks of Court shall request a blanket fiduciary bond or certified copy of a blanket fiduciary bond to be filed from any guardian who is appointed to represent more than two wards to who he/she is not related.
