WHEREAS, pursuant to § 102.141(1), Florida Statutes, the membership of a county canvassing board includes a county court judge, who shall serve as chair, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to § 102.141(1)(e)1, Florida Statutes, the chief judge is responsible for the appointment of a county court judge to serve as an alternate member of a county canvassing board, and
WHEREAS, elections are scheduled be held on various dates during 2024;
NOW THEREFORE, I, LEAH R. CASE, Chief Judge of the Seventh Judicial Circuit of Florida, hereby assign and designate the HONORABLE ALEXANDER R. CHRISTINE, JR. to serve as chair of the St. Johns County Canvassing Board and the HONORABLE LAUREN P. BLOCKER to serve as an alternate member of the St. Johns County Canvassing Board for all future elections occurring during 2024.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that Judge Christine shall assume such duties and responsibilities as set forth in Florida Statutes as a member of the St. Johns County Canvassing Board and shall continue as a member of said canvassing board until his duties are concluded. In the event Judge Christine is unavailable to serve as a member of the St. Johns County Canvassing Board for any election-related activity occurring during the remainder of 2024, Judge Blocker shall assume such duties and responsibilities as set forth in Florida Statutes as a member of the St. Johns County Canvassing Board and shall continue as a member of said canvassing board until her duties are concluded.
