Circuit Judge James R. Clayton was elected in 2002. Before becoming a judge, he was a part-time assistant state attorney and was in private practice for more than 20 years. He earned both his undergraduate and juris doctor degrees from Stetson University. He currently hears criminal felony cases at the Volusia County Courthouse in DeLand.

As of July 1, 2016, all proposed orders which have been filed through the e-Portal should be emailed to in Word format.  PDF orders will not be accepted.   This email is for the purpose of service of proposed orders and this account will not send, reply or forward.
